Album title: Art of the Guitar

Produced by: OehmeClassics Musikproduktion GmbH

Contents: A four CD set of guitar music from Central America, Europe, and elsewhere, each CD a little more or less than an hour long. Highly detailed liner notes describe the history and personal meaning of the music in German and English.

Each CD is like a complete album, covering different locations in the guitar world.

  • CD 1 is named "Inspiracion" and contains guitar music from Spain, Paraguay, and Cuba.
  • CD 2 is named "Guitar Music of Heitor Villa-Lobos and Alberto Ginastera"
  • CD 3 is named "Portraits of Cuba" and contains the world premiere of Cuban guitar music recorded in 1997, 1998, and 1999.
  • CD 4 is named "Panta Rhei - Johannes Tonio Kreusch meets Markus Stockhousen"

Some of the composers whose music Mr. Kreusch plays are Agustin Barrios-Mangore, Francisco Tarrega, Isaac Albeniz, Joaquin Rodrigo, and Leo Brouwer, as well as Mr. Kreusch's own music.

Johannes plays solo music on discs 1 and 2, and joins with other musicians on discs 3 and 4, including a string quartet, a mezzo-soprano, and jazz duets with brass player Markus Stockhausen.

Johannes Tonio Kreusch graduated from the Salzburger Mozarteum and was praised by the Acoustic Guitar Magazine as "one of the most creative guitarists of today".
